Interpretting A Koan - I Poem by RAJ NANDY

Interpretting A Koan - I

INTERPRETING A KOAN- I

Two Zen monks look up high, and sees the
flags fluttering,
Against the backdropp of the azure blue
sky!
The wind moves said one; no the flags move
said the other!
They argue the whole day long, but their
dispute remains unresolved!
The Master steps in to finally solve;
And says that it is neither the flag,
Nor the wind which lies behind,
What really moves is the human mind!
