INTO AHAZE
BY
EHSAN ELAHI EHSAN
When I see in the offing
Where the earth and the sky
Seem to be welded together
In the luminous space
And this earth on which
I have been living since my birth
Is left far behind with all its troubles
And all its comforts, I find myself
In the company of my only companion
Isolation and loneliness, I find myself
To be quite changed and comfortable
I find myself standing at a point
Where to one side of me are my parents
Adam and Eve and to the other side
Is their posterity the human beings?
The one side alluring and fascinating me
And the other side seeming to haunt me
I am unable to move to this or that side
When I think of moving to either side
The luminous space changes into a haze
