Intoxicated - Poem by Cristelle Elaine Collera
Look at my clock, it's 3am
Why am I still up, awake so late?
Can't help but think I'm turning jaded
On another night, intoxicated.
My vision's now just a blur
My head spins, forgetting the world
My thoughts have all gone clouded
And so has my sense of judgment.
Everything in sight whizzes by
And everything seems to fly into the night
Except this photo album of you and me
Filled with your haunting memories.
Drinking to no longer think of you
Proves totally useless, so I've found true
So how exactly do I delete
You, who used to make my days complete?
Now all I have are these keepsakes, faded
Left to resign myself to what's fated
Left without you for the rest of my days
How I wish I could just remain intoxicated.
