An invisible buffet, a delicious thing
Swallows trace the darkening skies
Swooping after bugs unseen
Too small for human eyes
And joining them in this display
A dragonfly darts and joins right in
As dusk descends upon the day
A feast to mark the daylight's end
Moonlight now reveals the scene
As eyes adjust now to the night
Bats now circle wing-ed things
Missing at the dawn's new light
With morning we begin again
We make our way as best we can
Untroubled by this ancient play
On our two legs we go our way
I love the rhythm of this poem. A feast of delights indeed. Beautifully worded poetry.
Moonlight now reveals the scene after the dusk gives life's mark. Life begins at morning and ends at evening. This poem has deep insight and seems to be philosophical as well as natural. An invisible delicious thing is perceived through amazing vision. This poem is excellently penned...10

I like this, Edmund, like how you recall for me, in the poem and picture, the lovely esthetic simplicity of flying things in silhouette against the sky. -Glen
On display the world of nature, our world. not as mother nature but as a sister or brother and in the swooping darting world are consumed the fuel that feeds on others too. As we walk on two legs far below we also have that which they do not. The challenges of free will. We consume as well but we also have the ability to create, forgive and to improve.
