Invisible Wolves Poem by G J Salgado

Invisible Wolves

The Moon is looking down at me
Waiting for the night to come
She was getting closer to the other side
I need to write another story to believe once again
With a wilder mind on the inside
I write so that you can be alive inside my story
Your soul is within the pages
Like no other book that has existed before
I began to write and I fell in love with who we are
We're getting closer to who we were meant to be
And I knew we'd never die
How I've missed the late summer night walks in the dark
The sky opened up and let us in
We became a part of the stars
Never once spoken words emerged from within
This is where we are when the sun begins to set
Howling while we sat upon the dark side of the moon
Once wild humans we became tamed beasts
Who soon became invincible
Everything that stood between us had no meaning anymore
We came in as ghosts
When everyone was watching
They never saw us coming
Our howls were music in the wind
That only their human ears could hear
They couldn't see us before but now they know
As we all wait for the final moment at Midnight to come
We waited for the perfect moment within the end of time to capture their souls
