Invitation. Poem by Carl Roussell

Invitation.

Rating: 5.0

Hello, this is my home, free from the distractions
of the world that exists just beyond the doorway.
In here there is no fear of unknown enemies
that wait to come at me while my back is turned.

A man cannot exist without someone close by
and still be a man, I invite you inside.

The words that are spoken when I am not within
these walls that surround us seem empty of all truth,
yet you are in the world as I choose to see it,
I am glad you are here and for your company now.

A man cannot exist without someone close by
and still be a man, I invite you inside.

Thanks Alan. To me this idea best describes a home; a place where you can let your guard down.
