Invitations Poem by Palitha Ranatunge

Invitations

Silent humming of
the airconditioner
compete the palpitations
of my heart
Clock whispers the seconds-
impatience ones...
even minutes passed,
hours to come
the door unlocked,
I, Karamasov waiting for
your ascending footsteps
to my solitary apartment...
Grushenka
Do come to me...
