Is Love A Sentence? Poem by John Hayes

Is Love A Sentence?

Rating: 5.0

Structure the sentence
With subject and predicate
Making mere nonsense
Out of quaint etiquette
Is love a sentence?
Ask those once loved
Passion past, intense
Scattered shoved
A lifetime of hope
Snuffed away
Now they can mope
Everyday
Back to the moment
The time is now
The phone is silent
But the crying, how
Such sadness rings
Along the frozen lines
Euripides sings
In melancholy chimes
