Is Meeting Halfway A Misconception? Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Is Meeting Halfway A Misconception?

It's funny how some people reach out to certain other people,
wanting to fall in life with friends and or strangers at times.

What causes this predicament in our lives, is it our own thought
processes?

Certain criteria being needed to be met through two people, or
is it feelings and emotions based on our lives so far in life?

Beginning and ending in either true love unconditionally or
breaking up, leaving one another alone.

Is there a way to meet halfway or is that really a misconception
we don't recognize?

So many questions, does anyone really ever have an honest answer
for what or how we perceive things?

Wondering as life fast forwards into an intense rhythm driving
us towards a replacement of what we truly want?

Or is it settling for something much less in this life and then
trying to make do with what we have?

A perfect accompaniment seems like a dream that sometimes can be
had and other times not at all.

Forging ahead anyway, hoping for the best and living instead with
second best.
