What is the worthiness of war
if bombs will keep falling constantly
and extinguishing life of hundreds
of innocent people every day and night
as their house keep getting demolished
by those explosions and missiles
which keep targeting every neighborhood
and converting their apartments into debris.
What is the value of war
if bombs and explosions will
keep smothering civilizations
that existed for years in their land
breathing that air
which belonged to them,
sleeping in those homes
that belonged to their forefathers
yet no mercy nor respect
for humanity exists or prevails
as war lingers on fiercely
as vengeance has taken its toll,
as enemies keep fighting each other
so ruthlessly, so angrily
that massacre and cruelty displays
extreme hatred and enmity
which does not subside
with grace of mutual sympathy
yet animosity rises
each day, each hour
with no respite.
What is the endgame and gain in a war?
how much will God see this mercilessness
that human beings engage in?
how much will our breath withstand
that as we see the falling bombs
exploding on buildings like fireflies?
where is humanity I ask myself
where innocent people try to flee
to save themselves
from death and wrath?
What is this dangerous game
that this war is engaged in
where nations are showering bombs
like rainfall without having any mercy
on innocent people?
is this a game of vanishing the human race
which has a right to life and existence?
And in that hope of peace,
I silently say a prayer not only
for war to cease but also for courage
to invade those hearts
which respire in fear and agony
yet prayers have no place nor authority
when rage has placed itself at the apex
as somewhere in those neighborhoods
no one knows when the next
explosion will cost them their life.
