It Could Be Forever - Poem by Colin Coplin

And what will be, will be tomorrow
What’s to be said, can later wait
If you must leave, then leave this instant
For if you stay, we’ll make love tonight

Shed all your thoughts like dirty laundry
Lock the door, pull down the blind
The night will be ours and come the morning
Will be our rebirth, or our end of time

And if the phone should ring
Door bell sing
Or if the winds should bring endless war
Then let them

For I really don’t know if it’s right or wrong
But when I’m with you, it’s heaven
It could be forever, ever and ever
I’m telling you it’s heaven, over and over

When we wake up in the sunrise
A new dawn for you and me
Our whole world is changed forever
A much bigger world for us to see

Shed all your thoughts like dirty laundry
Lock the door, pull down the blind
If you must leave, then leave this instant
For if you stay, we’ll make love tonight

And if the rain should fall
While trumpets blow
And our safe walls, crumble
Then let them

For I really don’t know if it’s right or wrong
But when I’m with you, it’s heaven
It could be forever, ever and ever
I’m telling you it’s heaven, over and over

break

And what will be, will be tomorrow
What’s to be said, can later wait
If you must leave, then leave this instant
For if you stay, we’ll make love tonight
