It Doesn't Matter Much Anymore

Rating: 5.0

It doesn't matter much anymore
Nothing I do seems to matter much anymore
Old age and uselessness seem to go together

And yet
And yet
Against this
I know I must not give up

There are others who would be hurt
By my lying down and giving up

For them perhaps
My just going on matters

I must try
I will I know I will

I have been trying now
For a long time

And I will go on trying
until I cannot.
