It Has Gone Poem by Francis Duggan

It Has Gone

The past it has gone only the memories does remain
Of the what used to be but cannot be again
That we learn as we live it does seem this way
And we learn something new from life every day
The years does pass quickly beyond our physical prime
And with so much to learn in so little time
And the more we does learn the more we realize
That we do know so little is not a surprise
Some lessons from the memory never does fade
We learn from the past and mistakes we have made
From the book of life new lessons for us every day
The book that has lessons for everyone only true for to say
We learn from the past and time does tick on
And at midnight this evening today will have gone.
