It Is A Bright Beautiful Summer Day (Refrain Stanza)

It is a bright beautiful summer day
but my love is a thousand miles away
and this longing lingers with pain
like the drops do from last night's rain
where the drops fall as splashing spray
while in the berry-bush birds do frolic
twitter joyful do to and thro rollick
and the sky is cobalt-blue not grey
but my love is a thousand miles away.
