It is the heart and never the reason
which leads us to the Absolute.
Mystical literature glow
with this intimate and impassioned love
of the Absolute which transcends
the dogmatic language.
“There in the lucky dark,
none to observe me, darkness far and wide;
no sign for me to mark,
no other light, no guide
except for my heart-the fire, the fire inside! ”
(St. John of the Cross, “The Dark Night” in the Poems of St. John of the Cross, third edition, original Spanish texts and English translations by John Frederick Nims., The University of Chicago Press, Chicago & London,1979., PP.19-21) .
Is is the heart or the soul, I often ponder on that but I suppose if we think of the heart as that invisible place since the actual heart is merely an organ, hmmm maybe we refer to our soul but are use to calling it our heart but then there's heart and soul, my my, I must think on this. i love your soothing words so full of depth, heart or not, they are just magnificent Dr. Tony. Don't mind me, sometimes I confuse myself...Beautiful words expressed here.....

No other light, no guide. The light of the truth is needed in life! Nice piece of work.
