It is the reward for me that I,
Blessed [be] by and by.
By your pearls and gems of wisdom,
That I might your secret books learn;
Lord, to you I turn for the knowledge about you;
Knowledge inspired by you,
Better than that imparted by a schoolmaster;
Your few words of wisdom are,
More precious than the heaps of wealth,
The heaps of gold and silver,
Or diamond stores of the world together;
Your hands, Lord, have fashioned man,
In the best stature;
You made man to display your creative powers;
Gave him knowledge and wisdom,
By your mighty pen, in order that,
Your laws, commands and secrets he may learn;
They that know you alone fear you, Lord,
Glad they are to abide by your commands a
And your laws,
Because they have heard your word,
That abides in them ever more.
