It Is Wrong It Would Seem Poem by Francis Duggan

It Is Wrong It Would Seem

It is wrong it would seem to speak ill of the dead
And negative stuff of him written and said
And 'tis only by bad example that he led
But by hanging him they made him a hero to some people instead

Of leaving him in jail for to die old and gray
Nobody deserves to die in such a way
The price for his crimes with his life he did pay
Yet is Iraq any better off without him today?

The so called leaders of the so called Coalition of the Willing of guilt living free
They are left to karma to judge them and to history
In their war in Iraq they have inflicted far more pain
On the Iraqi people than did Saddam Hussein.

In an invasion that was originally based on a lie
On an average three hundred people weekly in Iraq of violence do die
And with the passing of each day the war casualties grow
The so called leaders of the so called Coalition of the Willing of war history do not know.

For the poor people of Iraq it does look like more pain
Their woes did not end with the death of Saddam Hussein
And the so called leaders of the so called Coalition of the Willing from their war did not gain
And only bad memories of them will remain.
