It's Easy To Be Silent Poem by Edwina Reizer

It's Easy To Be Silent

It's easy to be silent
and not make any waves.
Let things be
that you see.
Don't step up actively
and everything will be fine,
but not within your mind.
It's easy to be silent
and never say a word.
Have a cup of coffee.
Think about your sanity
and everything will be fine,
but not within your mind.
Or will it?

Will it stop what's goin' down?
Will it change the world around
and keep you in a comfort zone,
keep you where you will condone
how the world keeps spinnin'
with all the bad guys winnin'?
Oh no! Not so. It's so repressive
you feel aggressive.
Can't say what's on your mind.
Close your eyes.
Make believe you're blind
and everything will be fine.

It's easy to be silent.
