It's Not Love Right? Poem by Andra Wadas

It's Not Love Right?

Rating: 5.0

It has been so long
Since I had this feeling
Heart closed off
For so many years
What is this happening
That simply brings on tears
To be able to smile
With out forcing it
Naturally occurs upon my face
I am not sure
What is happening to me
Life seems so much brighter
Clouds somewhat fluffier
Birds are starting to sing
What a miraculous world
We belong in
Still, I wonder what this is
These feelings are unusual to me
Wait,
Where has my walls gone?
Years to build
Solid and strong
Now, left unprotected
Able to receive love
Love?
What is this
That people speak of
Impossible
Refusing to let this happen
This is not for me
When I was hurt before
I swore it would never happen
Like before
Somehow slipping by
I blinked an eye
You were there by my side
What to do now
Did not expect this
Asking all kinds of questions
Finding answers that fit
Can we love each other enough
Will this last longer
If we are stronger
Maybe a year or two
Will our love pull us through
What am I doing to myself
Why not enjoy the moment for itself
More questions are asked
Things will start to crumble
Fall apart very quick
I will be back where I started
Stop torturing yourself
Embrace the unexpected
For what you are receiving
A love that is yours and his
To share as long as you can
You were not looking
It was handled to you
Now enjoy
And hope it will last
