I've had some rough times
walked down the hard line
Lived with what the courts decide
what you take and leave behind

We've all lost friends
and loved ones too
Life can get you down
and make you blue

It doesn't matter
who is wrong or right
Its just time to stop
and give up the fight

I have lived through floods and fires
tornadoes and quakes
Seen the sky burn
and felt the ground shake

I have seen it all come together
and all fall apart
We need a new tune
and a brand new start

We need a song
to make us all smile
Call up old friends
we hadn't seen in a while

One that makes us laugh
despite this crazy place
Make us take time
from the old rat race

No matter if I'm watching
that great football game
or wishing ole junior
would win that big race

I can't wait for them
all to come home
So I wont have to sing
this song all alone

We can drink beer
all afternoon
Just relax and do
what we want to

We need this song
to put a smile on our face
It's just what's in order
to keep up this pace

We're gonna laugh
and we're gonna play
We'll have so much fun
you might as well stay

I want the whole world
to put on a smile
and just be happy with
where they are for a while
