Jack Poem by James Timothy Jarrett

Jack

I went to the other side to find him

But he was gone

So lost to me

And all I dreamed was a dark dream

A rolling tide

Of nothing

And me

Under a cold white sheet

On the hard table

Needle putting me to sleep

Trying to find him

One last time

Before he was gone

Forever

But he was

Just as gone as the day I cried

Never to be found

And only to be mourned
