Jealousy Poem by Lyssa Renea

Jealousy

Jealousy, like a fire
burns deep inside my body.
Biting, clawing, striking,
like a hungry monster.
It whispers things,
wanting me scared,
like a tiny demon
in the base of my ear.
I shake and crawl and scream,
like the little girl I’m known to be,
as this mighty power
tap dances over me.
Jealousy is a common feeling,
like a fire, a monster, a demon
