Jilted(Ii) Poem by Nel Omofolarin

Jilted(Ii)

Smooth sail of trust now rusts on magma crust
Agony angrily adored on once glad terrestrial crest
What gain stirs emotional investors
Where gods steers the safest aversion as love
Now pious ways weigh doubts where solemn creed betrays
Grief and shriek from toils of misdirected ebullience
Inspire mares nigh nights where queen lays
Primal echoes of love, now lingers as petty lore of loss
Engulf her mind with saddening cacophony of regrettable thrusts
When toil isn't worth what it probes
And verses from verity veers
Rage oft presides with a stinging appeal
Regrets, the only wraith that haunts and consoles
As steps eerily paced, wrought irksome wonder
At junctions where nemesis most ardently appends
Woe betides the mind that mumble her empathic lore
For fraternal harbingers forewarned of gild that worms belly-wise
But so high she flirted in dance with fitful chimes
Jilted, her broken heart seeks desperate amend
(ii)
Come with me
To daring harvests of redeemed sheaves
Maybe new strength might find your weary limbs
On plains, where some emotional reasonableness assures
