Happiness is in the happenings
Ebbs and flows by downturns
But the joy inhabiting the heart
Survives the downturns in life
His Spirit attends the heart
Though within jars of clay
He comforts in joyfulness
With surpassing assurance
That in all life circumstance
In conflicts and difficulties
And before every hardship
His child is not destroyed
Burdened but not trampled
Bewildered but not desolate
Mistreated but not deserted
Stricken but not overcome
The presence of His Spirit
Upholds, stays and fortifies
And keeps the child afloat
And never to be consumed
Herein is joy exemplified!
Not by the turn of events
Nor by temporary rewards
But by the Lord’s presence
In every affair of our lives
He attends and supervises
And He set the boundaries
To secure the end in His Hands
