Joy Is Here! (Te Deum Laudamus) Poem by Jude Ogunade

Joy Is Here! (Te Deum Laudamus)

These years and my tears!
How heavy my fears!
The pain was loud,
The hate? A shout!

Ha! Joy is here!
I will not wipe
These tears!

The wait? A torment!
The count? Turbulent!
Second, Second, Second!
The bottle? Congruent!

Ha! Joy is here!
I will not wipe
These tears!

The pain was plain
The hate was loud
And amid the shout
Arsenal rose again!

Ha, Joy is here!
I will not wipe
These tears!

They taunted us,
Insulted us,
Bottle, they said;
Is our homestead!

Ha! Joy is here!
I will not wipe
These tears!

We endured the shame
The trophy our aim
Gunners rose again
Arsenal now reign!

Ha! Joy is here
I will not wipe
These tears!

Ha! Joy is here!
I will not wipe
These tears,
These tears of Joy!

These tears of ease
These tears of victory

Ha! Joy is here!
See Arteta,
beaming smiles.
See Uncle Arsene,
sipping wine.
See The Emirates,
Glittering.
See The Champions
Soaring!

Ha! Joy is here!
Thanks to the English,
For Football.
Thanks to England,
For Premiership!
Thanks to the Almighty,
For the gift of life!

Ha! Joy is here
And I will not wipe
These tears!
