Judges Lost In Technicalities In Laws Poem by Terence George Craddock

the world I am told is changing
apparently it is hard to tell differences
between black and white
between right and wrong
we are lead to believe in monochrome
black and white is greyscale
evil crimes explained justified
sentences imposed reduced discarded

no prison time home detention
with internet movies ordered takeaways
criminals slipping ankle bracelets
their plastic locator beacons diet
slipped off or cut off then free to roam
new crimes to be new forgiven

a judge lacking the light within
cannot find the way in darkness
to impose sentences to protect
communities a judge lost who lacks
the ability to tell wrong from right
often releases the wrong punishes

the right on points of law applied in
excess lost in technicalities in laws
