Just At Sunrise, As I Stand Up Here Poem by Mohammad Younus

Just At Sunrise, As I Stand Up Here

Just at sunrise, as I stand up here,
Arising from the dark layers of the night,
I gaze upon these ancient Blue mountains,
Their lofty peaks now emerging
In the gentle silvery light of dawn.

And I contemplate the single golden lamp,
Rising to scatter light across the far horizon.
A cool breeze sets in, soothing my soul,
And I begin to feel its immortal glow,
Awakening and enlightening me
After deep slumber through the long night,
Lost in the dreams of illusion's sway.
Now I awake enlightened —
my soul, here to stay!
