Just Evil The Rest Poem by M.J. Lemon

Just Evil The Rest

Rating: 5.0

Mine was the generation
that had a meeting of the minds
the world was imperfect, at best
just evil the rest
if not most of the time

We talked, always agreed
adopted a creed
of direct action
that took us to complaining. chanting
rallying and finally bailing

when it came to building
and creating
But there we were ahead
anticipating those who could
step aside, outsource

ensuring the world
would remain much
unchanged
maybe just the same

Great introspective piece, I take it its the flower power kids. Every generation is a direct challenge to the preceding one, and the preceding one feels threatened. In the end it all the struggles get lost, and the world just moves on. Wonderful work M.J. always inspiring!

Thank you, Kevin, I was indeed thinking of the 60s and 70s, but the observation you make about the struggles, all struggles, eventually getting lost really does apply to any generational struggles.

Good shall always prosper over evil! And that will never change! Another very well written, thought-provoking work of art, M.J.!

Thanks so much, , Dillip. I am finding that the more things seem to change, the more they do remain the same.
