Just I wonder at Utopians,
Who seek to make the world
A better place—
Yet the world remains unchanged,
As it always has been,
And will continue its way.
What if it could truly change?
Some tried, but it lasted only briefly.
The voices of peace and love
Have been silenced time and again.
So I speak louder:
Bring peace and love—
But start within yourselves,
In your homes, in your hearts.
Actions speak louder than words.
It may not be all palatable—
A sweet drink for you,
But I'm certain it's the truth.
I don't preach despair,
But I believe if we begin
With our own homes—ourselves—
The world might yet improve.
I seek only self-purification,
Growth, and advancement—
To foster ideals of love and peace.
Too radical, perhaps,
But we must try.
You may hate me for my views—
For not following your path
In pursuit of a Utopia.
But I stand for what I believe in.
My mother told me as a child—
I could be anything I wanted.
Now, when I try,
They try to stop me.
It's freedom of thought—
Don't mock me.
You go your way, I'll go mine.
I speak of what's truly achievable,
Yet you accuse me of opposing
Your green dreams—unless
you embrace my non-Utopian views,
I suppose I'll remain your villain—
As my elders were.
