Just One Virus
The streets are deserted
The worship centres are empty
The business areas are abandoned
Just for one virus
The hospitals are filling up
The death tolls are rising
The cemeteries receiving more guests
Just for one virus
Worries and fears are mounting
Precautions and safety measures echoing
Even the atheists are praying
Just for one virus
This signifies the vanity of man
Calls his wisdom into question
Portrays him as nothing without God
Just for one virus
Truly it is not the first
It shall surely pass away
And more to come there are
Only God is the answer.

I liked the repetition of 'just for one virus'. My wife says viruses don't exist and she calls the 'covid epidemic' the 'Fakedemic' I don't (can't) argue the point. : ) bri.
I almost gave ***** stars, but gave **** due to the uncertainty I had over last two stanzas. I wonder if the poem reflects current conditions in Kengsley's neighborhood.

'Even the atheists are praying' I had a hearty laugh at reading that. Sorry, sort of. But the last two stanzas left me a bit puzzled, Kingsley, as to what you are 'saying' re 'mam
