Justin Trudeau - Re-Elected And Re-Entering The Pm's Chair

Justin Trudeau - Re-elected and Re-entering the PM's Chair
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
I read in The New York Times international edition that
If campaigning is poetry
Governing is prose
For after the euphoria of running for election has abated
The chosen candidate has to have two feet on the ground;

If Justin Trudeau did think that he was knee deep in bog
Donald Trump may be getting the feeling that he is in muddy waters
And "deep down in Florida", he proposed that he host a G-7 summit on his private golf resort
And to cling to the tree of America, he called Robert Mueller, "human scum",
Our man in Canada, speaking with sincere regret after he got found out
In the act of blackening his face three times during his yesteryears,
Said that he did not know that it was wrong to do so;

If PM Trudeau has had his two feet on the ground
Leading the way on many issues, leaden with the weight they had to carry,
These two feet have also partially been two feet of clay to some of his followers
Was all that bonhomie and bon mot just a façade of white disregard for human soul;

It is true that the white man feels for his fellowmen
Who are of other backgrounds and identities and cultures and races
But white people as people from the supposed higher strata of society from other countries
Are callous of the feelings of visible minorities and other minorities;

PM Trudeau, Canada and the rest of the world are waiting
To see how well you do this time around
If you reflect a record of no mishaps and mistakes,
Then it means that you have emerged victorious in your soul searching.
