Kea Poem by Ima Ryma

Kea

Through the New Zealand air, the call
Of kea parrot can be heard,
Sending tiz time to play for all
To each and ev'ry kea bird.
Whether together or alone,
Kea are prompted by their sound
To become rapt in a play zone,
Whether in air or on the ground.
No kea call, the kea were
Serious before and after.
But with the call came change for sure,
Kind of like infectious laughter.

The kea bird call be the way
To unlock the kea to play.
