Keen Watcher Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Keen Watcher

Keen watcher

I didn't realize
Until he ceased to be
I thought oh! why did I not think?
With this I sank

No, he did not speak
But always asked
About my well being
As simple human being

He had no inkling
About my being
In deep feeling
He was willing to share

Time did not permit
As we failed to greet
And exchange views
My sentiments blew with sadness

He was suddenly air borne
To depart for heaven
Watch me through stars and sky
Now I felt shy

He gave me grief
But provided relief too
I shall remain unwed
And care for his dead soul

I shall fulfill his desire
His dreams and act as flier
Very simple admirer
And keen watcher
