Keep Your Head Up Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Keep Your Head Up

I'll keep my head up
No, life won't get me down
Yeah, the challenges can be tough
I'll never go under, i will not drown
Deep inside of me, there's a light
which shines radiantly as the sun
negativity is the portal that gives fear a passage
through to my heart, to my soul
to limit me and keep me in confinement
This shalt not be a hindrance to what i believe
Nothing will discourage me in this life
walking out, head raised high
suffered wounds many will see the scars
Yes, A resilient heart holds onto faith
faith that heals all emotional and mental wounds
which burdens the soul
when you're down, keep the faith
believe in yourself, hold onto your pride
you've been through the storm
while it thundered and lightened
and still you've survived
Keep your head up
Life provide us with challenges
to test our strength
don't you give in, stand strong
unlock the chains which binds you
let past victories remind you
this battle won't go to the enemy
rise above the hate and fear
