Kentucky is my land
Kentucky is my home,
Kentucky is my heart
Kentucky, is my soul.
Kentucky is the mountains
Kentucky is the earth,
Kentucky are my poems
Kentucky, is my birth.
As I walk besides the Ohio River
I watch in wonder as she flows,
Up against the Kentucky banks
As the Kentucky wind proudly blows.
So, I sit and I write about her beauty
I sit and I spiritually hold her hand,
Kentucky is my joyfulness
Kentucky, is indeed this man.
Kentucky is my wonder
Kentucky is my dreams,
Kentucky is my bluegrass
Kentucky, is my trees.
Kentucky are the horses
Kentucky is the lakes,
Kentucky is where we stand
Kentucky, is my land.
