it's the way your brown eyes
sting my heart,
and the way your bright smile
breaks me down.
your warm embrace
leaves me wanting more,
more than you can deliver.

it's the way you led me on
and then let me down,
and it's the way it didn't even bother you
when it left me perplexed and all alone.

and now, now it's the way
i see you and forget about everything.
how foolish am i to want to go back
to the same thing that kept me up at nights
afraid.
