Kindness Doesn't Always Pay Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

Kindness Doesn't Always Pay

Kindness is a blessing,
but an opportunity too,
For some will take advantage of everything you do.
They'll prey upon your kindness,
to get just what they need.
Then cast you into the shadows,
once they've got their feed.
There are people who will use you,
It's sad but it is true.
Once you cotton onto this,
They don't care a hoot about you.
But never lose your kindness,
It's a good thing even though,
It often goes unnoticed,
Don't ever lose that glow.
