~king For A Day~ Poem by E Nigma

~king For A Day~

I peeled the layers back
Pulling away shades of sadness
Dipped my finger into the cool
Pool of all I am

A fool with every answer
On a throne encased in mirrors
Smiling to the crowd
With my patience wearing thin

Frail and falling forward
Just to answer all that sickens
Before the sentence begins
I regret all that's mentioned

The sin begins in faking
Just to show you I'm not wicked
Just to stroke your ego endless
Unprovoked to off him headless
