Kissing Poem by David Thomas

Kissing

i've rarely felt sparks
i cannot think of a time
where the whole world stopped
all because our lips touched,
but should there ever have been a time
it would have been the last time...
it would have been the last time.

i cannot bare to continue
shielding you from everything
that hades bombards you with,
while you take all of the graces
given to you from Him...
given to you from Him...

i could have been your guardian angel,
but you'd never have even known
how much danger i shielded you from
and in the end i turned into the greatest evil...
i turned into the greatest evil...

one can only fight so long
against the evils of this world,
before they lose whatever is left to lose
When this night ends,
good or bad for nothing more than
a simple whim on the battlefield
of love, hate, and anything inbetween...
of love, hate, and everything inbetween...

i am your angel no more.
no longer do i claim you as my paradise,
your venomous touch decodes my walls
it breaks my defenses in a single brush.
you are the apple and i am not biting...
you are the apple and i am not biting...
