Kofi Annan The Sage Poem by Phanice Wamukota

Kofi Annan The Sage

Rating: 4.3

I admit that to Kenyan's the mention of his name
Is the closest synonym to the single term 'peace'
In the country he came yo eradicate the blame
And collect the then shattered nation back to one piece
Since his arrival was more of a blessing
It was received by revere from all the tribes
As long as alive for him songs we shall sing
Without being enticed by the long-known bribes

Realigning tranquil to the state was his mission
And long-term measures to ensure no opprobrium
With his sloe speech he re-vitalized our vision
Advising us to eschew ethnicity to the maximum
Being an expert in the realm of world politics
To eminent persons of the state he spoke
That the then norm shouldn't turn people to lunatics
And should criminals face the consequences for the laws they broke?

A guilty conscience needs n accusers,
The earlier on cagey confirmed the saying
'The big men made us their weapon users
And to those distraught we are deeply sympathizing
The Sage punctiliously doing his work
With countenance the peace accord brought history
With nothing being left or signed in the dark
The big work left was to cater for the tree

A Ghanaian in Switzerland Known as Kofi
Tall and standing at his prime vigor
You wont be shocked to hear he takes coffee
And in love you will fall with his prime rigor
Annan is intelligent and balding with wisdom
And to new-borns in Nyanza, his name remains tenacious
For after his work what he left was freedom
And the memory to witnesses forever remains precious.

We all acknowledge Annan and his team of eminent persons for showing us where the rain started beating us. You may want cut out some words though. I think this ode would be so much memorable if you would aim at being economical with your words. Otherwise, its a great read.

Blessed are the peace makers for they shall be called children of God. A lovely tribute to a towering figure with cosmopolitan disposition, an accomplished diplomat. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
