As taub means deaf auf Deutsch,
I guess it's no longer korrekt,
auf Deutsch,
to say a dead loss is eine taube nuss.

It's probably not even korrekt
to call an empty nut eine taube nuss.

Hoechstwahrscheinlich (more probably than not) ,
a dead loss and an empty nut
are now both eine hohle nuss.

au in taub and auf is said like the ow in how.
the b in taub sounds like p.
the e at the end of German words is said uh.
ei sounds i.
the u in nuss is like the oo in book.
the oe in hoechst... is like the ur in hurt.
w sounds like a v.
