Laced Blood - Poem by Andi Jakobs
Twilight expands over the cold night sky.
The silence is broken with one solemn cry.
He falls to the ground; blood spilling onto him.
Is vision slowly growing dim.
Blood laces around the gunshot hole,
His blood pours; drowning his soul.
His breathes are short; they are his last.
Blood veils his face like a mask.
His eyes close and his heart stops it’s beat.
He slowly slips away from the world in cruel defeat.
He lays there cold, dead, alone.
No howls escape his lips; not even a soft groan.
His whole body lay still in the cold hard mud.
His face is a mask of laced blood.
