Lady Shy, On Love's Threshold Poem by james watkin

Lady Shy, On Love's Threshold

With eyes that drop, intimidated
As by what has just uprose
In a forest of night-walked through spooks
Owl's mild lights superimpose
Someone appeals 'brave one step closer';
Out her heart's trustworthy place.
'To dispel that of dreading's mists
Illusive, veil the true face.
