Landscaping Laughs Poem by Edith Oram

Landscaping Laughs

Survey site, oh what a mess.
How long? Well that's anyone's guess.
Out with paper, pen and tape,
Rough ideas taking shape.
Decking here and paving there,
You want a water feature where?
Complete by when? My you'll be lucky!
Time to start on jobs very mucky.
Tea up! Well about time too.
Biscuits included? Good for you.
Back to work, joint aches and pain,
Damn down comes the rain again.
Heavens open, site's awash,
In the murkish mud we slosh.
Day after day we sweat and toil,
Working artistry with the soil.
Finale! Project's now complete.
Party! Now soak aching feet.
