Last Breath Poem by Catherine Mburu

Last Breath

If you were to catch your last breath,
Right now,
Or in a few minutes time,
What legacy would you leave behind?

Would they sigh, a sigh of relief?
Now that you are gone?
Would they be saddened by the loss?
Or would they say at last we can rest easy!

Would you make others cry?
Would they be sorry that you've left?
Or would they be happy!
And forget you in a flash?

What would your epitaph read!
'Here lies a looser' OR 'Potential wasted'?
Would you make the flowers wither or blossom?
Simply by being under there?

If only we would know the time,
So only we can be very prepared,
But its so a secret,
Nobody has the answer to the maze.

Now that its a top secret,
We ought always to be prepared,
That in all we do we leave footprints in hearts,
Wherever, Whenever in Whomever.
