Last Long Hour Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Last Long Hour

Late in September ~ he was dying.
His lovely wife secretly crying.
She sat with him and tended him
Spent the last long hour with him,

And these words she heard him say:

'Fall into my arms and die with me.
No-one else in this world do I see.
Ascend to the highest heaven with me,
Let me live again together with thee.'
