Last Promise Poem by Nebil Elias

Last Promise

Don't expect you to notice
Never given any signs
Wish I could've been happier
But all that's left is a faded smile

Don't recognize my own reflection
Never understood what's in my head
Living off of old promises
Hoping to forget

I'm already fading
And somehow, I don't mind
Because once you forget about me
You won't ever have to cry

Maybe there will be a feeling
Like there is something you have missed
Almost like a bittersweet melody
With missing lyrics

Don't expect you to notice
Maybe I did give some signs
But after I keep my last promise
It's best if we say goodbye
