Last Promise Poem by Vision Ghost

Last Promise

Almost no time for the dictation of time between this
This life, these moments and the slowly darkening bliss
Watching your innocent eyes looking down at me in tears
Wishing I could reach out; take away your many fears

This unknown place I must go the point of no return
No matter what the choice and the fury I will burn
Let the cool rains soothe this shattered mortal shell
To cleanse me of my sins to forge a way from this hell

Pray for me that I’ve given as much I possibly could
I can’t reverse this as time has stolen what should
Have been and what will never come for me now
A dying soul as the dove to the skies winging my brow

As my lifetimes daylight dies to a mortalities eclipse
I’ll hold you forever if be my final memory to elapse
Wishing for the dark clouds to shield this blinding light
The challenge of breathing saps all that is my might

Eyes are skyward bound as I can still hear your heart
If be the sorrow of your agony as grieving plays its part
Then hold me so my final experience is of your warmth
I’m choked to no words as my lungs fall from their girth

So silently this slipping to the circle of the blackness
This void of the encroaching inevitability in darkness
Sensations are so less of the sensitivity that was life
I know that this pain is killing you in merciless strife

The boundless joys of spring I wish you there now
If only I could know that my spirit can watch somehow
Lost to the infinity of time to the limitless enduring love
This will be my final promise even if life be not thereof
