Late Night Poems Poem by Ray Hansell

Late Night Poems

Here it is
Late at night
The words all come
For me to write

Into my mind
They rush to me
Just like rivers
Rushing to sea

The words flow out
Into a rhyme
It happens at night
All the time

It happens most often
When I lay down in bed
The words dance around
Inside my head

So many rhymes
Come to me
I write them down
As fast as can be

But every now and then
I seem to lose a thought
Some do get away
As they can't be caught

Sometimes what I lose
Are more than just words
For somewhere down the road
It could have been a poem heard
