Law Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Law

Law

In this time and this age
-dumbly, I decided
- "Add law to diplomas! "

Is bitter and sweet
-is knife and medicine
-is deserts' cold and heat

Mirages
Mirages
Mirages

The lakes are plenty
-with bushes and trees
-in waters swim fish
-fly birds, chirp and sing

Attractive
Attractive
Attractive

Codes and modes are of past
-the torts and contracts
-statutes made by the
-socially elected
-addendums regulate
-by people's delegates

But not so
Not at all

Could masters' law serve the
-First Nations and slaves?

How can law be good if
-kills us and our moral?

"Contract…" they teach us
- "…must follow the rules to
-be worthy and legal…"
-as if we, are machines, mechanical…
